Minister of Transport and Public Works Jappie Mhango has this morning officially launched Lot 2 of the Golomoti–Monkey Bay Turn-Off (M010) Road Rehabilitation Project, marking the start of construction on the second and final section of the strategic road.
The project’s final phase covers the 28.4-kilometre Chantulo–Golomoti section, which will be implemented by Mota-Engil Africa and financed through a loan facility from the National Bank of Malawi.
With the launch of Lot 2, rehabilitation works are now underway along the entire 58.4-kilometre Golomoti–Monkey Bay Turn-Off Road, a key transport corridor expected to improve connectivity, boost tourism, facilitate trade, and enhance access to essential services in the lakeshore region.
