The US President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) says the US government, through USAID, has provided Malawi with 400 million dollars and approximately K700 million for the prevention and control activities of malaria in the country since 2006.

PMI Team Leader for Malawi, Jannel Rough, is speaking in Balaka at the launch of the 2024 Insecticide Treated Nets Mass Distribution Campaign and Commemoration of the SADC malaria week.
Rough says with Malawi making progress in reducing malaria prevalence to 70 percent since 2013, they will continue to support the country in fighting against its incidences in both children and pregnant women.
