Former President of Malawi and leader of the People’s Party, Joyce Banda, has declared her commitment to ensuring that university students do not abandon their studies due to financial difficulties. Speaking yesterday at a party rally held at Chinkhoma Primary School in Kasungu, Banda emphasized her ongoing support for numerous students, helping them complete their education by covering their school fees.

Banda stressed that, in addition to paying for students’ fees, ensuring the presence of well-trained teachers across all levels of education would significantly improve the quality of learning in Malawi. She highlighted her vision to enhance teachers’ salaries and working conditions if she returns to government, aiming to motivate teachers and promote educational excellence throughout the country.

This commitment from Banda comes as part of her broader vision to tackle the barriers to education faced by many Malawian students and uplift the education sector as a whole.
