Malawi Police Service (MPS) has trained officers on using the newly acquired speed trap cameras and breathalysers in Lilongwe.
25 traffic officers from various districts have been equipped with skills to handle the gadgets.
MPS has secured 10 cameras and 15 breathalysers that will be installed in various areas that are prone to road accidents.
During the closing ceremony, the Deputy Inspector General for the Police, Happy Mkandawire said the equipment is not punitive but protective.
The equipment has been provided by Truvelo Africa Electronics Division.
