The head coach of Blue Eagles Football Club, Elia Kananji, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in the first phase of the 2024 CRFA Chipiku Premier Division League, which features 12 teams.
Speaking after the conclusion of the first round on Wednesday, Kananji commended his players for their determination. The Area 30-based side wrapped up the round with a 1-0 victory over Panthers FC at Mbabvi Ground.
Blue Eagles currently tops the log table with 31 points, followed closely by Mchinji-based Villa FC in second place with 25 points. Namitete Zitha sits in third position with 19 points, all teams having played 11 matches.

In an interview, Kananji expressed confidence in his players, emphasizing that maintaining their fighting spirit in the second round will be crucial in achieving their goal of returning to Malawi’s elite league.
However, he also warned that the second round will be more challenging, as other teams will intensify their efforts against them. He urged his players to remain focused and consistent until the end of the season.
