Raiply FC has launched an ambitious search for a highly qualified coach as the Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) League outfit looks to transform itself into a genuine title contender and finally secure promotion.

The club’s management says it is determined to match its performances on the pitch with the reputation of its parent company, Raiply Malawi, insisting that average results are no longer acceptable.

“We are a big brand, so our play shouldn’t look like social football. We need to be competitive enough that our opponents lose sleep whenever the fixtures are released,” said Chimwala.

The announcement signals the club’s growing ambition to establish itself among Malawi’s leading football teams after years of narrowly missing out on promotion.

Despite the decision to strengthen the technical bench, Chimwala praised current head coach Lovemore Nyirenda for his dedication and achievements over the past five years.

Nyirenda, who holds a CAF C Licence, guided Raiply FC to victory in the 2021 Nyasa Capital Finance Cup and has consistently kept the club among the top-performing sides in the Simso Mzuzu Premier League, recording several top-five finishes.

According to Chimwala, the incoming coach will work alongside Nyirenda rather than replace him, with the aim of combining experience and continuity to build a stronger, more competitive squad.

Nyirenda has welcomed the club’s decision, saying he is ready to work with a more experienced coach if it helps Raiply achieve its long-term objectives.

The move reflects the club’s determination to challenge for major honours and earn promotion after several seasons of falling just short.
