The Islamic Information Bureau (IIB) is pleased to announce the official opening of a new prayer room at Chileka International Airport. The facility was officially handed over today by Airport Development Limited (ADL) in a brief ceremony at the airport.

Located within the passenger terminal, the prayer room offers Muslim travelers a quiet space for worship. IIB expressed gratitude to ADL for supporting religious inclusion and providing travelers with a space that reflects Malawi’s commitment to spiritual diversity.
An IIB representative noted, “This space is a symbol of peace, understanding, and comfort for all travelers.” The room will be maintained by IIB and remain open during airport hours.
