A concerned citizen of Malawi Mrs. Elizabeth Kaliza Banda of Area 51 in Lilongwe, has praised some police officers in Malawi who are demonstrating professionalism in the line of duty and they deserve promotions as a reward for their good job they are serving the communities.

Kaliza Banda said she has been hearing of excellent service being provided by police officers at Area 50 Police Unit in Lilongwe that if all police stations across the country borrow a leaf from the example set at Area 50 Police Unit, police stations could not be like a hospital for patients waiting for a doctor to treat them.

She said she paPolice Arrest MCP Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Bandaid a visit to Area 50 Police Unit and what he heard from visitors, all praising Officer – In – Charge of this Police Unit Sub. Inspector Reuben Kuyewawa that he always make sure that all visitors are delegated to responsible officers so that they are assisted in time and go back home fully convinced that they have received what they wanted from police officers.

The concerned citizen said she saw this by herself that the Officer in Charge came from where he went to arrest a law – breaker and upon seeing many visitors on the door steps, he started asking individuals what they have come for and in sooner, the steps were empty, all visitors were directed to meet responsible officers and others were taken by himself to his office.Kamphangala calls on police if evidence is there to arrest Chakwera

She said Sub. Inspector Reuben Kuyewawa is being loved by the communities surrounding Area 50 Police Unit saying he listens to the visitors and treat them according to the services they wanted a thing which most police officers are lacking in the country.

” He is a hard – worker, he loves his job as a calling from God to assist people and the people thank the police for the good services,” said Kaliza Banda.

She has appealed to the Inspector General of Police Richard Luhanga to reward Sub. Mr. Jolobesi Yohane who was at the police unit to provide food to someone in police custody said if all the country’s police stations had police officers of Reuben Kuyewawa’s heart, there could have been excellent friendly relationships between police officers and community members.

Yohane said there are some community members who resort to beating up a police officer saying this is so because there’s no good friendly relationships that exists between police officers and members of the surrounding community.

” When we see someone beating up a police officer, let’s all join hands to arrest him to save our police officers from the attack,” he said.

Area 50 Police Unit falls under Kanengo Police Station in Lilongwe, is serving a densely populated area where crime is the order of the day.
