The Malawi Police Service (MPS) have arrested former State House Chief of Staff during the reign of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP government, Prince Kapondamgaga.

The two, Kapondamgaga and Nyirongo are allegedly linked to be master – minders of the Amaryllis Hotel acquisition in Blantyre.
But, in a dramatic turn of events, the First Grade Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has granted an order to police of the cancellation of warrant of arrest for Kapondamgaga.

Kaliza Banda said after the MCP took over government in June, 2020 almost half a dozen of DPP ministers were arrested but not even one, Malawians heard that the court has cancelled a warrant of arrest for Elizabeth Kaliza Banda.
She said the drama which has been demonstrated in Kapondamgaga’s arrest and cancellation of warrant of arrest is pointing to one thing, Malawi courts are rotten, corrupt and compromise.

” Poor people are the ones who are being arrested without warrant of arrest as compared to those who have money where warrant of arrest is issued to the suspects,” said Kaliza Banda.
