President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in London ahead of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles lll and Queen Consort to be held on Saturday, 6 May at Westminster Abbey.
Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport, Dr Chakwera was welcomed by a cross-section of people including a royal family member, the Malawi High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr Thomas Bisika, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, among others. He then proceeded to his hotel in central London
At the hotel, the President was also met by the Deputy High Commissioner, Justice Agnes Patemba and members of the diplomatic staff at the Malawi High Commission in London.
While in London, apart from attending the coronation the President will also hold bilateral talks with other world leaders who are expected to attend the historic occasion.
