Reports circulating in Washington suggest that some members of the United States military have allegedly refused to follow deployment and combat orders linked to tensions with Iran under President Donald Trump.
According to the claims, a number of troops are questioning the legality and ethics of the potential conflict, raising concerns within the United States Department of Defense about discipline and command authority.
If confirmed, analysts say such a move would represent a rare challenge to the authority of the U.S. Commander-in-Chief and could signal internal tensions within the armed forces over the direction of the Iran policy.
However, officials from the Pentagon have not publicly confirmed widespread refusal by troops to obey orders. Military experts note that refusal of lawful orders in the U.S. military is extremely uncommon and can carry serious legal consequences under military law.
The reports emerge amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, with diplomatic and military developments continuing to unfold.
