CCJP Condemns Violent Attack On Democratic Progressive Party Supporters

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace has strongly condemned the violent attack on Democratic Progressive Party supporters in Lilongwe.

During what was supposed to be National ID Registration Sensitisation awareness road-shows on Saturday, the DPP in the Central Region faced disruption at Mbowe fueling station, resulting in injuries to some supporters, damage to vehicles, and looting of vehicle parts.

Some injured supporters were promptly taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital for medical attention.

In an interview with Bonface Chibwana, the National Coordinator of CCJP, emphasized the importance of political leaders promoting peace and tolerance as Malawi gears up for the 2025 elections.

Chibwana also urged the Malawi Police Services to apprehend those suspected of instigating the violence.
