Kamwendo made it in “Kuthandiza Omwe Alibe Kuthekela Kupita Patsogolo” project

Nsanje based young girl, Chikondi Kamwendo can now breathe a sigh of relief as she is the first winner of the “Kuthandiza Omwe Alibe Kuthekela Kupita Patsogolo” project,.

The project that is being championed by one of the country’s philanthropists and business tycoons, Triephonia Mpinganjira is targeting 18 young entrepreneurs.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mpinganjira said Kamwendo’s business idea is to have a big place where she can sell the crops in the district, and she is the first winner out of 43,000 who applied for it.

“I have presented the check to Chikondi Kamwendo in the presence of her mother, whom she came with from Nsanje, and the deputy mayor for Lilongwe City, Her Worship Esther Sagawa.” She confirmed.

The announcement was made earlier today at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe, where Kamwendo walked away with a million Kwacha to start her business.

This comes after Mpinganjira earlier unveiled her commitment to support 18 young entrepreneurs.

Through her Facebook page, Mpinganjira made this announcement on Monday 1st April 2024 pledging K18 million to bolster 18 burgeoning entrepreneurs.

She said the development is aiming at fostering entrepreneurial spirit among the youths.

Mpinganjira, however, is set to disburse K1 million to one innovative business concept weekly from the current month through December of this year.

Geared towards individuals aged 18 to 35, the endeavor is exclusively accessible to Malawians.
