Let us speak plainly. Let us speak from the heart. And above all, let us be honest with one another.
There are moments in a nation’s history when leadership becomes more than politics. It becomes about character, experience, vision and the ability to carry the hopes of millions of people. For many Malawians, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika (APM) represents exactly that kind of leadership.
APM is more than a former Head of State. To his supporters, he is a statesman whose wisdom, calmness and experience have left a lasting mark on Malawi.
He is a leader who understands that governing a nation is not about making the loudest noise. It is about making difficult decisions, standing firm when necessary and putting the interests of the country above personal ambitions.
APM is a blessing to Malawi.
A blessing of experience.
A blessing of wisdom.
A blessing of steady leadership.
A blessing of a leader who has dedicated his life to serving his country.
When Malawi needed direction, APM stepped forward. When the country needed experienced hands, he offered his leadership. And when history called upon him, he answered.
Today, many Malawians look back and remember not only the political debates, but also the sense of stability, dignity and national pride they associate with his leadership.
That is why we must not be afraid to acknowledge what we believe.
We love APM.
We respect his experience.
We value his contribution.
And we believe Malawi still needs leaders who understand that public office is a responsibility, not a personal possession.
God works in ways that human beings cannot always understand. Sometimes He raises people at particular moments in history to serve a greater purpose.
And so we say:
Zikomo, Mulungu wathu.
Thank You for giving Malawi leaders who have dedicated themselves to the service of this nation.
Thank You for the wisdom and experience represented by Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
May God continue to give him strength, wisdom and good health.
May God bless his family.
May God bless everyone who believes in his vision.
And above all, may God continue to bless Malawi.
Let us put aside hatred. Let us put aside unnecessary divisions. Let us celebrate leadership where we believe leadership deserves to be celebrated.
History will judge every leader. But today, we can speak from our hearts.
APM is our leader. APM is our statesman. APM is a blessing to Malawi.
Zikomo, Mulungu wathu.
Zikomo, APM.
Zikomo, Malawi.
Long live Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Long live Malawi.
