LILONGWE, Malawi — The United States Embassy in Lilongwe has commended the Malawi Police Service for its successful operation that led to the safe rescue of British national Nusrat Osman.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the US Embassy praised the police for their courage and commitment during the rescue operation.
The Embassy also extended special recognition to Dr. Noel Kayira, Deputy Inspector General of Police, who, according to the Malawi Police Service, was injured while taking part in the mission.
“Your courage inspires us. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Sir—get well soon,” the Embassy said.
The commendation comes as the Malawi Police Service continues to receive recognition for the operation, which successfully secured Osman’s safe rescue.
The Embassy’s message also highlighted the risks faced by police officers during operations aimed at protecting lives and ensuring public safety.
