Russia Hand Over To Malawi A Donation Of 20,000 Tons Of Fertilizer  

An agrarian country that Malawi is has been given 20,000 tons of fertilizer from Russia, a charm offensive from the Kremlin to maintain and strengthen ties with Lilongwe amidst its brutal war with Ukraine which Malawi detested by voting against Russia in the United Nations to be suspended from the Human Rights Council.

On Monday, officials from the ministry of agriculture and a delegation from the Russian Embassy stormed Mkwinda EPA on the outskirt of the capital Lilongwe for an official handover of 20 000 tons of fertilizer from  Uralchem-Uralkali a Russian company.

Present during the function were Minister of agriculture Sam Kawale, Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma and Russian Ambassador to Malawi and Zimbabwe Nikolai Krasilnikov, and also representatives from the Russian company Uralchem-Uralkali. This consignment of fertilizer is a donation by the company, part of 260 000 tons of fertilizer that was stuck in various European ports, and the company was requested by the World Food Program to donate it to developing countries like Malawi.
