Speaking during the official handover ceremony at Kamzimbi CDSS in Lilongwe, Chakakala Chaziya said the newly constructed hostel for girls will help address school dropout rates, early marriages, early pregnancies, and poor accommodation conditions that negatively affect girls’ education.
Chakakala Chaziya also pledged to support families with girl children in the constituency by paying school fees for girls through the Chakakala Chaziya Initiative for Education, which aims to improve education standards in the area.
He further said the newly constructed clinic will improve healthcare service delivery in the constituency, especially for children under the age of five, adding that the development will contribute to better health among community members.
“Currently, I have constructed two hostels at two secondary schools and I am planning to construct another two girls’ hostels at Mwala and Sendwe. I am also providing bursaries to 528 students from my constituency,” said Chakakala Chaziya.
