concerned support health workers have threatens Countrywide sit in

The concerned support health workers have threatened to resume their countrywide sit-in if the government fails to address their concerns.

According to a letter written to the Ministry of Health, they plan to resume their sit-in on 2nd November 2024 in all districts across the country.

They are demanding a top-up allowance for all support health staff, a risk allowance for all staff, and a 52 percent salary increment for all support health workers, which was allegedly removed in 2006.

“Concerned support health workers across Malawi are not happy with the way your office is handling the matter. Up until now, we are not certain of your stance on our concern,” reads part of the letter.

The affected health workers conducted a sit-in across the country on 1st October 2024, but it was suspended after government officials committed to dialogue to resolve the matter.
