Airtel increases voice, data, and SMS bundles

Airtel Malawi Pic, a nation’s leading mobile phone network service providers has increased the rates of its voice, data, and SMS bundles commencing from April 10, 2024.

In a media statement, voice bundles will see a 15 percent rise, while data bundles will experience a 23 percent increase, and SMS bundles will undergo a 20 percent adjustment.

Company has cited recent escalations in electricity tariffs and the depreciation of the local currency, the Kwacha, as primary factors driving this decision. Airtel Malawi underscores that these modifications have received approval from the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra).

It further said that this move follows a similar pricing adjustment enacted by the company in December of the previous year.
