Kalindo says come rain or sunshine, he will stand for truth

Political activist Bon Kalindo, says plans to arrest him by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) government are a welcome development in a country of democracy assuring all behind his arrest that come rain or sunshine, he will stand for nothing but truth and justice.

Kalindo said he has been tipped of his impending police arrest and he is patiently waiting for those who will be going to the court to obtain an Arrest Warrant even a phone call that he has been arrested, he will hand himself to them.

He said while waiting to be served with Warrant of Arrest, he cannot be silenced not speak on issues affecting poor Malawians in their everyday life situations such as skyrocketing prices of basic goods, man-made hunger, fuel crisis and fertilizers meant for meant for Affordable Input Programme (AIP).

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said Zomba Maximum prison has a cell without windows, there is no food for prisoners and if there are food, is from well-wishers and individuals coming to cheer their friends and relatives.

Kalindo said prisoners are dying like chickens with nobody care, Prion authorities cannot do anything if government itself is not seeing conditions in which prisoners are sailing through saying this is the same with Zomba General Hospital where there are only two car batteries for six vehicles to run.

He has warned Malawians that letting the MCP government under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera bounce back into government will be a grave mistake which the forefathers will not understand why voting for the party which has brought in untold sufferings in Malawi.

The activist has appealed to opposition parties in the names of DPP, UTM, AFORD, PP and UDF to swallow their pride of going alone in the September,2025 elections but to form a united force which will not give any chance to MCP and Smartmatic to rig the elections.

“Malawians are ready to vote for anyone from the opposition political parties but not MCP and President Chakwera to be the 7th President of the Republic of Malawi,” said Kalindo.

He has thanked Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Dr. George Chakwera for releasing a statement against procuring a machine to monitor social media expressing hope that since he has started speaking, he should not leave it there but to advise government to channel that 5 billion to other equally important projects.
