Mighty Wanderers Football Club is moving towards establishing a modern home for the club, with president Dr Thomson Mpinganjira expressing satisfaction with ongoing rehabilitation works at the club’s clubhouse in Blantyre.

Dr Mpinganjira made the remarks on Tuesday after inspecting the progress of the renovation project, stressing that a historic football institution such as Wanderers deserves proper facilities that reflect its status.

He said the clubhouse is being developed into a facility that will serve different needs of the club, its players and supporters.

The facility already has a conference room, gym, lounge, sports shop, restaurant and secretariat offices.

However, Mpinganjira said his vision goes beyond the existing developments, revealing plans to add a gazebo for players and a dedicated children’s corner within the clubhouse premises.

He also outlined the club’s next major ambition: constructing dedicated training facilities for the team.

According to Mpinganjira, the club is actively searching for suitable land to accommodate the proposed training project, which would provide the team with a permanent base for preparations and development.

The planned investment signals an effort to strengthen Wanderers’ infrastructure beyond match-day performance, with improved facilities expected to support the club’s long-term ambitions.

Mpinganjira also appealed to the Nomads’ supporters to remain committed to the team regardless of its results, urging them to stand behind the club during both successful and difficult periods.

His appeal comes as the club continues working towards building a stronger institutional foundation, with the clubhouse rehabilitation forming part of its broader infrastructure ambitions.

For Mighty Wanderers, the vision is increasingly about more than football results. It is about creating a permanent home and facilities capable of supporting the club’s future generations.
