Police in Blantyre have put measures to counteract the effects of selling liquor drink dubbed “Ambuye Ntengeni” in Blantyre.
The beer has claimed lives of 5 youths and 3 others are under medical attention at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital after imbibing it at Manase in the district.
But Blantyre District Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Gift Kawalazira, has said the people, eight in total, drank the alcohol at Manase in a commercial city and later showed symptoms of failing to see and serious body weaknesses.
We have established that the proprietor of the place where this locally brewed beer was made has been arrested.
