Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Director of Strategic Planning who is also Homeland Security Minister, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma says the party’s winning of all the three seats in the Karonga local government by-elections is a clear signal that the party will win in next years general elections.

Speaking Saturday evening at Mbamba primary school during thank you rally, Dr. Ng’oma said the sweeping of all seats is in sharp contrast with social media reports that people cannot vote for the party because of the prevailing socio-economic challenges.

“People can no longer be cheated on issues to do with escalating prices of goods and services for someone to say MCP can’t win an election. MCP is loved by everyone across the country and the by-election results testifies that,” Ng’oma told the media.

During the thank you rallies Dr Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma gave nine cows and several bags of rice to all three wards as one way of appreciating the electorates.

The Malawi Electoral Commission conducted local government by-elections in Karonga following the conviction of their representatives on corruption charges in September, last year.
