Social commentator Dr. Samuel Lwara says former President and DPP leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s coming back home from South Africa has answered all the questions Malawians were inquiring about him describing this as good news.
Lwara has encouraged Malawians to do politics with sober minds saying Professor Mutharika is the country’s former President, he is a public figure and Malawians have the right to know and inquire his whereabouts.
He has reminded Malawians that in June, 2020 Malawians voted out Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika because of his old age for the youth to take over the leadership of the country in the names of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the late Dr. Saulosi Chilima.
Speaking through an audio clip, Lwara has advised the DPP that the way how politics is in Malawi, the DPP will find it hard to campaign for votes without Professor Mutharika saying the campaign trail is not fit for him due to his old age.
Lwara has questioned DPP senior members of what is there problem pushing the old man Professor Mutharika into the ring instead of resting him and what is so special for him to appear on the ballot paper?
He has argued that in the Mutharika’s family alone, two presidents came out Professor Bingu wa Mutharika and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, questioning Malawians that is this not enough to look to other families for presidency?
“Do not force an old man to be on the ballot, he need to rest and enjoy with his family members other than taking him to conduct campaign meetings,” said Lwara.
But reacting from Dr. Lwara’s clip, Mrs. Efrida Msambandere of Likuni in Lilongwe writing on her face book page, has appealed to all those that are not DPP to leave the matter of APM to the DPP members and supporters to solve saying it is none of their business.
Msambandere said Mutharika after winning the 16th September, 2025 elections, he will leave the presidency to the capable youth in the DPP and outside the DPP claiming that Mutharika will be on the ballot to oust President Chkwera from power for Malawi to be liberated.
She said it is the wish of all Malawians that are feeling pain with President Chakwera and his MCP to vote for Professor Mutharika for their pain to turn into celebrations that the devil is now not in control of the country.
“You can talk and talk, Professor Mutharika will be on the ballot and if not, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe will be there in the DPP-UTM Alliance,” said Msambandele.
She has assured the MCP and President Chakwera to start packing up that Malawians will vote even for five times to make sure that Chakwera is out of the presidency saying as the writings are on the wall, only the Smartmatic machines will declare Chakwera the winner not the peoples’ vote.
