Prominent preacher and founder of ECG – The Jesus Nation, Shepherd Bushiri, has praised the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government under former President Arthur Peter Mutharika, citing notable improvements in the country’s economic outlook.
In a strongly worded endorsement, Bushiri pointed to the steady decline in inflation as a clear indicator that the administration’s economic strategies are delivering results. He emphasized that such progress reflects deliberate planning and disciplined financial management aimed at stabilizing Malawi’s economy.
“Inflation is going down each and every day,” Bushiri said, underscoring what he described as a positive shift being felt across different sectors of society.
The prophet also singled out Minister of Finance, Joseph Mwanamvekha, for recognition, expressing a keen interest in meeting him personally to convey his gratitude.
“I would like to meet Honourable Mwanamvekha and thank him for a job well done. Strong economic leadership is key to national development,” he added.
Bushiri’s remarks come at a time when economic performance remains a central issue in Malawi’s public discourse. His endorsement reinforces sentiments among DPP supporters who credit the Mutharika administration for pursuing policies that aimed to restore fiscal discipline and investor confidence.
Closing his statement on a high note, Bushiri offered emphatic praise:
“Big up Arthur Peter Mutharika. Big up Joseph Mwanamvekha.”
The comments add a significant voice to ongoing conversations about leadership and economic management, highlighting the role of recognition and public confidence in shaping national momentum.
