
Dr Jane Ansah Joins Prestigious G100 Presidential Advisory Council

Malawi’s Vice President, Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah, has been appointed to the G100 Presidential Advisory Council, a prestigious international body that brings together some of the world’s most influential women leaders, in a move that further elevates Malawi’s standing on the global stage.

The G100 Presidential Advisory Council serves as a strategic advisory body to the organisation’s Global President, providing guidance on initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s participation in leadership across governments, institutions, business and civil society in more than 100 countries.

She became Malawi’s second female Vice President after the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won the 16 September 2025 General Elections. Since assuming office, she has continued to draw on an extensive legal and judicial career that has earned her respect both within Malawi and beyond its borders.
Before entering the Vice Presidency, Dr Ansah built an outstanding career in the legal profession. She is a retired Justice of Appeal and Senior Counsel who has served in several of Malawi’s highest public offices, including Attorney General, Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Chairperson of the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), and President of the Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC (ECF-SADC).
Her academic credentials are equally impressive. Beyond the courtroom and public office, Dr Ansah is also an accomplished author whose scholarly work focuses on constitutional law, human rights and legal development. She additionally serves as the National Overseer of Christ Citadel International Church, reflecting her commitment to faith-based leadership and community service.
Her appointment to the G100 Presidential Advisory Council is expected to provide Malawi with a stronger voice in global conversations on inclusive leadership, governance and women’s empowerment while creating opportunities for greater international collaboration.
The G100 is an influential global network of women leaders representing more than 100 countries. The organisation works to promote leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and gender equality by connecting accomplished women across diverse sectors to develop solutions to global challenges.
