The defence in the ongoing Shephered Bushiri extradition case has asked the court to completely dismiss the case as the state has said it will parade one witness in the case instead of six as it was indicated earlier on. Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to 10 July for court's ruling on the yet to be written submissions on case dismissal application. In their arguements, the defence say they thought of praying for a dismissal knowing that it will be illegal to only parade one witness as it was supposed to be. Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza has adjourned to 11 July, 2022 an extradition case hearing involving Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary. The Bushiris were in court on Friday, for continuation of their extradition case hearing, the State however applied to have witnesses record their evidence in South Africa citing logistical challenges as the reason. But defense objected to this saying the issues being raised were already dealt with by the Court through its ruling of 8th June 2021. Chief Resident Magistrate Chimwaza has now given both parties 7 days to file their final submissions on the objections. State failed to parade second witness in the FISD Directors Case

The State has today failed to parade it's second witness in the FISD Directors fraud case as witness is reported not to be in the right state of mind to be in the court. On Monday, State's second witness Kondwani Msowoya who is Project coordinator for the Sustainable Rural Water, Sanitation infrastructure for improved Health and Livelihood Project, was expected to continue tendering his evidence in court but this did not happen as he failed to show up in Court. According to Pirirani Masanjala Senior State Advocate, Msowoya couldn't make it to the court as his wife is unwell and he is taking care of her.
