Extend Postal Services To Remote Areas – Kunkuyu

Minister of Information and Digitalisation, Moses Kunkuyu, has asked postal service operators to consider reaching out to underserved communities living in the country’s remotest areas that are disconnected from the information superhighway.

He said this in Ntcheu on Friday during this year’s commemoration of World Post Day.

“Government believes that a connected citizen is an empowered individual. We all must work together towards reducing the communication gap that exists, especially among those in rural areas,” Nkunkuyu said.

He observed that postal and courier service providers remain an integral part of communications services in Malawi.

During activities to mark the day, the minister handed over a data center to Ntcheu District Council which was renovated by Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra).

Countries around the world commemorate Post Day on October 9 every year.
