Deputy Minister of Health Honorable Halima Daud-MP this morning represented the State President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera in celebrating 09th international day of Yoga with Indian community at Indian Country Club in Lilongwe.
In her remarks Honorable Daud MP said government of Malawi takes the day very serious as the practice offers numerous benefits for physical and mental health, development and healing.

The Deputy Minister added that with the daily pressure in the families, work place and digitalized world have taken a toll on the physical and mental well being of people and can only be alleviated through body exercises such as yoga.
The day is commemorated annually across the world on 21st June.
