The Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) has assured members of the general public that it will soon obtain more arrest warrants for the remaining suspects of the Greenbelt Authority after execution of 11 warrants of Arrests it obtained during the first round of arrest.
The ACB said in the first round of arrests for Greenbelt Authority, they arrested Eric Dudley Chidzungu, Dr. Chisomo Kumbuyo, Linda Phiri, Synoden Kautsi and Chester Chikwere and from contractors, Innocent Kawinuwinu, Stanley Bakolo, Ephrone Mwenitete and Kenneth Khonje.
The Bureau said the arrested suspects have all been formally charged with various offences under the Corrupt Practices Act and the Penal Code and have been released on bail with the earliest trial scheduled for 27th February, 2026.
It said in addition to the prosecutions, the Bureau will commence civil asset forfeiture proceedings for various properties belonging to the defendants suspected to be proceeds of crime.
