Demonstrations to turn protests on the Malawi roads……
Human Rights Activist Sir Charles Ben Longwe, says Malawians cannot be sitting down and watching President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera enjoying travelling in and outside the country while motorists are spending nights in service stations waiting for fuel.
Longwe said President Chakwera is draining a lot of forex chartering planes to overseas countries a clear indication that he is not aware of the situation Malawians are sailing through, saying to him and those surrounding him, everything is good as it was yesterday.
He said presidents of other countries addresses their citizens on the measures government is taking to address the crisis, but President Chakwera has chosen to remain quiet that things are good on the ground, a development which is worrisome.
Speaking through an audio clip, Longwe said to show that Malawians are angry at President Chakwera and his Tonse Alliance government for not deeply touched with the crisis in Malawi, his Movement, the National Congress has organized street protests to be conducted in all the main roads of Malawi from Wednesday to Friday this week.
Longwe said petitions of this Mass protests will be delivered in advance in the offices of District Commissioners across the country, saying in Lilongwe, they will carry with them television camera men and women to beam Lilongwe District Commissioner Dr. Lawford Palani renown for receiving directives from the MCP to cancel demonstrations in the city.
He said there have been petitions and petitions delivered but none has been responded by President Chakwera speaking for itself that he has closed his ears listening to Malawian cries and sufferings saying Malawians are saying enough is enough with President Chakwera.
National Congress Movement’s leader has advised police officers handling protesters to treat them with special care that they are also suffering from the same with a warning that bad handling of protesters will result to door-to-door protests in their respective houses and locations.
…..’’We want the police to provide security to the protesters, arrest the law breakers and not the leaders of the protests, doing this again will force angry Malawians to retaliate against them,’’….said Longwe.
Government has paid a blind eye because they are one of them saying this is a clear evidence that Malawi has no government and is in leadership crisis.
