Kajawa’s Midas Touch: Bangwe All Stars Rises from the Ashes

Soccer enthusiasts in the country, keenly following the TNM Super League, have been wondering why top-flight teams had not previously engaged the services of Coach Trevor Kajawa, who is now in charge of Bangwe All Stars FC.

Since taking over from Rogers Yassin, Kajawa has bolstered the top-flight rookies, strengthened the defensive unit, reduced goals conceded per game, and encouraged attacking flair.

This has resulted in increased goal-scoring opportunities and fostered a competitive team spirit, evident in their recent resilient performances.

After defeating FCB Nyasa Bullets in a league match played a fortnight ago, they went on to trouble Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in an Airtel Top-8 cup game and then forced Silver Strikers to drop two vital points in a league campaign.

Sports analyst Kondanani Chilimunthaka hailed Kajawa for his confidence in young players, who he said have shown the ability to execute his philosophy.

“The same players we have seen losing games week in, week out are now proving to be cornerstones in the top flight league,” said Chilimunthaka.

Another soccer enthusiast, Tafara Mopiha, who played for the disbanded Michiru Castles before joining Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, expressed no surprise with Kajawa’s success. Kajawa gave him his first-ever Super League appearance at the tender age of seventeen.

“I am a product of Trevor Kajawa’s footballing philosophy. He gave me a debut against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC when I was 17 years old in an elite league match for the once Michiru Castles FC. Trevor is a seasoned, disciplined tactician with an eye for young talent. His combination with Alfred ‘Junior’ Manyozo is something else.

“Congratulations coach for bringing sanity to the young urban Blantyre side. Big up to the lads; we don’t need a Blantyre team out of the league this season,” said Mopiha.

However, he cautioned that in order to maintain consistency Bangwe All Stars needs to remain focused and amassed maximum points.
