By Burnett Munthali

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Governor for the Southern Region, Daud Chikwanje, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the party for the support he received following his recent arrest. Speaking at a rally held at Chinamwali grounds in Zomba, Chikwanje thanked the party leadership for standing by him during the difficult time.

“Zikomo kwambiri a chipani (Thank you so much, DPP),” said Chikwanje, acknowledging the solidarity shown by party members during his legal troubles.

Chikwanje also took the opportunity to remind Malawians of the many developmental projects initiated under the leadership of former President Arthur Peter Mutharika, fondly referred to as APM by his supporters. “Most of the developments we see in the country today started during the time of APM,” he said, urging Malawians to support Mutharika in the future to allow him to complete the work he started.
