The Malawi Tourism Council (MTC) has announced the highly anticipated return of the Malawi Tourism Industry Awards after a one-year hiatus.

According to MTC Executive Director Memory Kanthunzi, the 2025 edition will recognize outstanding individuals, entrepreneurs, tourism players, and influencers across the country.

MTC Board Director Tonderai Banda has promised an unforgettable event this year, drawing from his experiences visiting various places worldwide.

“Having visited different places across the world, we have tapped knowledge and expertise to make this event special,” Banda said.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 29, 2025, at a venue in Blantyre. Nominations for competitors will open on September 1, 2025, giving industry players a chance to showcase their excellence.

This event aims to promote competitiveness, industry excellence, and resilience within Malawi’s tourism sector.

By recognizing and rewarding outstanding contributions, the awards will inspire professionals to strive for excellence in their operations.

The Malawi Tourism Industry Awards have been a hallmark event since their inception in 2018, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to celebrate achievements and foster partnerships.

Last year’s event saw notable winners, including Amaryllis Hotel, which won the Leading Hotel Award, and Kumbali Lodge, which took home the Leading Lodge Award.

With the return of the Malawi Tourism Industry Awards, industry stakeholders and supporters are eagerly anticipating the celebration of excellence in Malawi’s tourism sector.
