Hon. Moses Kunkuyu, MP, has called on the government to immediately suspend the burial of Dr. Victoria Bobe until all investigations surrounding her death are fully completed.
He raised the concern in Parliament, warning that proceeding with the burial tomorrow may jeopardize key forensic processes needed to uncover the truth behind her killing.
Kunkuyu stressed that burying the body prematurely could destroy potential evidence crucial to determining how Dr. Bobe died and who may be responsible.
In response to the matter, Minister of Homeland Security Hon. Peter Mkhitho informed Parliament that he expects an update later this evening from both the police and the medical teams handling the investigation.
Mkhitho assured the House that the government is treating the matter with seriousness and is awaiting comprehensive feedback before making decisions on the next steps.
The discussion was first brought to the floor by Blantyre Soche MP Hon. Fredo Kalua, who urged the minister to move swiftly and ensure total transparency in the ongoing inquiry.
Kalua emphasized that Malawians deserve clarity, accountability, and thorough investigative work, especially in a case as sensitive and suspicious as this.
