Minister of Lands Jappie Mhango has pledged that government will soon secure suitable land for 127 landless households residing at Nthundwala Camp in Kasungu District.

Speaking during a visit to the camp, Mhango said government is committed to resolving the long-standing land crisis faced by the families, whose forefathers became landless after they stopped working for Press Agriculture.

“The government is very committed to addressing this issue and will allocate land where these people can cultivate and sustain themselves,” he said.

Nthundwala Camp chairperson Stanley Lyson welcomed the minister’s visit, noting that it had renewed hope among the affected families.

“We are optimistic that the government will act on this matter,” Lyson said.

The families have been living at the camp since 2012, with limited access to farmland and basic services. The minister’s assurance has raised expectations that a permanent solution may soon be in sight.
