Mighty Wanderers have fired a bold warning to their traditional rivals after lifting this season’s TNM Super League title, declaring that a new era of dominance in Malawian football has begun.
Speaking during victory celebrations in Blantyre, Wanderers director David Kanyenda said the club is no longer prepared to surrender the championship easily, stressing that the Nomads have paid their dues after years of disappointment and ridicule.
Kanyenda took direct aim at long-time rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers, warning them to brace for a prolonged wait before reclaiming the league crown.
“Send this message to Bwandiloko and Ndirande,” Kanyenda said. “This trophy is not for sharing. We were mocked for going eight years without winning the league. Now we are telling them to wait ten years before they can take it from us.”
His remarks were met with loud cheers from Wanderers supporters, who turned the celebrations into a show of unity and renewed belief in the club’s resurgence.
The title victory marks a major turnaround for the Blantyre-based side, ending a painful drought and restoring confidence among players, officials, and fans. Club officials say the triumph is not the final destination, but the foundation of a long-term project aimed at re-establishing Wanderers as a dominant force in domestic football.
As celebrations continued along Lali Lubani Road, one message rang clear from the Nomads’ camp: Mighty Wanderers believe they are back at the summit—and intend to remain there.
