BREAKING: Former Electoral Body Chief Andrew Mpesi Arrested

Former electoral body chief Andrew Mpesi has reportedly been arrested after appearing before the police’s Financial Crimes Investigation Unit in Lilongwe.

Mpesi was summoned to the unit as part of an investigation into suspected financial crimes.

His lawyer, Chrispine Ndalama, says the charges against his client have not yet been disclosed.

Police have not yet issued an official statement confirming Mpesi’s arrest or the reasons for his detention.
