The suspect has been identified as Godfrey Laiton and the deceased is Nesto Masula, both aged 20.

According to Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin Lilongwe Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer, the suspect was moving around the village when he bumped into his sister and her boyfriend Masula and he confronted Masula challenging him to stop going around with his sister whom he described as young.
