HRA Demos Pushing For Referendum

By Suleman Chitera Sep20,2022

Human Rights Ambassadors has notified the Lilongwe District Commissioner’s Office of their planned demonstrations slated for 28th September 2022.

In the notice, the group’s chairperson, Ben Longwe and others, want to force President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima to call for a referendum or recuse themselves from discharging their duties in their positions.

This comes weeks after President Chakwera met a section of some Civil Society Organizations leaders which reportedly pledged to opt for engagements as opposed to demonstrations.
