Malawi Queens Win Bronze at Africa Netball Cup

Malawi’s national netball team, the Queens, have won a bronze medal at the 2026 Africa Netball Cup after defeating Namibia 50–45 in the third-place play-off in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday.

Namibia started strongly, leading 13–12 after the first quarter. The Queens responded in the second quarter to take a 26–25 lead at half-time.

Malawi extended their advantage in the third quarter, leading 40–35 before holding on to claim a 50–45 victory.

The bronze medal comes after the Queens lost 62–46 to South Africa in the semi-final.

Malawi’s campaign also secured the Queens qualification for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
