MRCS LAUNCHES CASH TRANSFER PROGRAMME FOR FLOODS SURVIVORS

The Malawi Red Cross Society has launched a cash transfer programme targeting close to 6 thousand households that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Anna.

MRCS said the beneficiaries of the programme are in four districts Nsanje, Chikwawa, Phalombe and Salima.

Each household is receiving K80 thousand which will be used as a starter pack when rebuilding their shelters.

in her remarks, during the launch of the programme at Bereu in Chikwawa District, Programme Director for MRCS, Prisca Chisala, said the package has been designed to support flood survivors rebuild their livelihoods with ease.
