By Suleman Chitera Nov16,2022

Opposition members of parliament are demanding for clarification from government on whether Helen Buluma who was Acting Executive Director for National Oil Company of Malawi NOCMA has resigned or has been fired from her position.

This comes barely hours after Buluma confirmed of her resignation.

However, a letter by Nocma board chaired by Colleen Zamba to Buluma indicates that they have chosen to terminate her contract.

Kondwani Nankhumwa Leader of the Opposition said there is need for responsible Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola to clarify for Malawians to know truth of the matter on Buluma.

Meanwhile, Nankhumwa is also demanding explanation from the Ministry of Agriculture on why it has included the donated fertilizer on AIP list for sale.

Nankhumwa said there is need for government to bring a statement in parliament on AIP before President Chakwera launches the program on 19th November.

Meanwhile, Government Chief Whip Jacob Hara has said ministerial statement on Affordable Inputs Program is ready and will be presented in the house soon.
