Police hunt for an HSA murderers

Police in Mangochi District are hunting for unknown assailants who have stabbed to death a Health Surveillance Assistant (HSA) based at Mangochi District Hospital. The incident happened on the wee hours of May 15, 2022 within Soko Trading Centre.

The deceased has been identified as Dinizhy Sifa, 40, from Disi Lundu village, Traditional Authority Nsomba in Blantyre.

According to police findings, Sifa who had two wives on May 14, 2022 around 09:00 hours left his second wife’s house and went for drinking within the township and never returned.

Sifa was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood along Mangochi-Monkey-Bay road with mutiple stab wounds on the chest, ribs and back. He was rushed to Mangochi District Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Postmortem results from the same hospital has indicated severe loss of blood caused by stabbed wounds as the cause of death.

Meanwhile police are hunting for the assailants who will answer charges of murder once found.

Furthermore, police are appealing to members of the public who may have information which can lead to the arrest of the suspects in the matter to tip them.
