The political analyst, Wonderful Mkhutche, says the election result in the United States of America shows that voters can retain a party in power if the sitting government fails to deliver.
Mkhutche was reacting to the victory of former American President, Donald Trump, who defeated the sitting Vice President, Kamala Harris, in Tuesday’s US elections.
However, Mkhutche says this does not necessarily reflect what will happen in Malawi’s general elections next year.
“These are two different political contexts, and we cannot use what has happened in the USA to conclude what will happen in Malawi,” says Mkhutche.
