Airtel Top 8 finalist Mighty Wanderers and Ekhaya Football Club have donated assorted football development equipment worth K30 million to Play Soccer Malawi Academy in Area 49 in Lilongwe today.
The donation has been facilitated by Wanderers club President Thom Mpinganjira and his son Ekhaya President William Mpinganjira as part of celebrating a historic Airtel Top 8 final at Bingu National Stadium this Sunday and contribution to youth football development.
Wanderers captain Felix Zulu and Ekhaya’s Clever Mkungula handed over the donation on behalf of the two teams.
Play Soccer Malawi representative Pamela Chabwera hailed the two teams saying the donation would motivate the young players and contribute to growth of football in Malawi.
The donation included uniforms, football boots and balls. The two teams also donated 100 tickets to the academy for the players to watch the Airtel Top 8 final.
