Lilongwe Private School and the Hindu Community in Malawi have supported survivors of Cyclone Freddy in Traditional Authority Juma’s area in Chiradzulu.
Speaking during the ceremony, a representative of the two organizations, Mukesh Makadia, said they are geared towards stabilizing the lives of people who were affected by Cyclone Freddy.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the affected people, former legislator for the area, Patricia Kaliati, hailed the two organisations for their support.
Kaliati also appealed to the donor community to consider distributing early-maturity seeds to the affected families so that they might become self-reliant before the next harvesting season.
According to Mukesh, the relief items are worth K9 million and they include rice, sugar, cooking oil, clothes, soap and juice.
