By Burnett Munthali

A cross-section of Malawians has gathered in Simon Hara Village, in the area of Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba District, to pay their final respects to former Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Second Vice President, Othaniel Hara, who tragically passed away in a road accident at Edundu on Saturday.

Among the notable guests present are former Vice President Khumbo Kachali, Minister of Defense Harry Mkandawire—representing President Lazarus Chakwera—and FAM Second Vice President Lameck Zetu Khonje. Also in attendance are former FAM President Walter Nyamilandu Manda, officials from the Super League of Malawi, Northern Region Football Association, and local traditional leaders, all gathered to honor Hara’s contribution to Malawian football and his community.

Eulogies are currently being delivered, with burial scheduled for the afternoon.
