Social commentator Bashir Al Bashir says he feel very sorry for Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda that he created so many enemies in the name of getting favors from President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and today, he has been thrown away and dumped.

Chimwendo Banda has been hitting headlines in many media outlets for his alleged involvement in sponsoring MCP thugs who have been seen terrorizing, intimidating, threatening and hacking opposition party members in full view of the Malawi Police Service (MPS).

He has been defending MCP youth for years distancing his party’s youth as thugs and these people have been receiving protection from government on the claims that they are supporting a political party in government and they are above the law-untouchables.

MCP thugs have been seen to be more powerful than the Malawi Defense Force and Malawi Police Force, ever since the MCP was ushered into power on the 23rd June, 2020 they are enjoying immunity as that of the President beside Malawians knowing their identities.

Over the weekend, Richard Chimwendo Banda had a meeting, Speaker of Parliament and others, had their meeting, the rallies received no coverage as all the roads led to where Vitumbiko Mumba was addressing a campaign rally to woo supporters vote for him in the party’s primary elections.

Bashir Al Bashir has reminded Malawians writing on his face book page that he said it of the divisions in the mighty MCP saying the evidence was witnessed with Vitumbiko Mumba’s rally in Mzimba that he is being supported by President Chakwera not the party.

He said President Chakwera is digging the grave for himself by sabotaging his party and favor one person Vitumbiko Mumba expecting the whole MCP to support him saying this alone, is speaking for itself that President Chakwera has no powers in MCP, he can’t force them a decision.

The social commentator said it was very strange to see to it that one person ordered 4 media houses to cover one function of Vitumbiko Mumba, the man who has no leadership position in the MCP but it pleased President Chakwera to appoint him as a cabinet Minister and yet, Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda’s rally received no coverage.

“You will see sabotage if Mumba is appointed President Chakwera’s running mate, there will be tools down, no one in the MCP will campaign for Mumba, and that will be his downfall and a devastating loss for MCP,” reads Bashir Al Bashir writings on the wall.

Vitumbiko Mumba’s rally in Mzimba attracted Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) TV, Times TV and Mibawa TV beaming live coverage where on the other side of sports, there was blackout at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre where Mighty Wanderers was clashing with Blue Eagles and football followers had no choice but to tune in to live radio coverages by football commentators.
