President of the United Democratic Front (UDF), Atupele Muluzi, has called for a thorough and professional investigation into the arrest of a suspect accused of flying a drone over the residence of Vice President Jane Ansah, describing the matter as a serious national security concern.

He urged the Malawi Police Service to handle the matter with urgency and professionalism, ensuring that all facts are established and appropriate action is taken against those involved.

“The safety and security of the Vice President is non-negotiable,” Muluzi stressed, adding that law enforcement authorities must also put in place robust preventative measures to avoid similar breaches in the future.
The UDF leader expressed full confidence in the country’s security agencies, stating that they have the capacity and responsibility to safeguard key state officials and maintain national stability.
